

age of 80.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Billy Flippo; her parents, T.M. and Willeen Hightower; her brother, Charles Hightower; her nephew, Jamey Hightower; and her grandson, Cody Stewart.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Lynn) Hurst and Cynthia (Tim) Stewart; her cherished grandchildren, Craig Hurst, Hayden (Stone) Creel, and Jake (Maribeth) Stewart; her great-grandchildren, Liam Hurst, Noble Creel, and Dylan Stewart; her sister-in-law, Shirley Hightower; her niece, Gina White; and her nephews, Ricky Flippo and Jody Hightower.
Linda dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker, caring for her husband and children. She also spent many years as a secretary at Faith Lutheran Church in Eastlake. A lifelong member of Gardendale First Baptist Church, Linda was known for her devotion to family and faith.
After becoming a grandmother, her greatest joy was “Grandmama Day,” where she would spend the day with her grandchildren, creating priceless memories by doing the activities they loved most.
Services to honor her life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Mount Olive. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend George Weeks. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery. There will be no graveside service.
Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
