Linda Sue Laney

Linda Sue Laney passed away on April 13, 2023 at the age of 79, on the 62nd Anniversary of her Father's death on a Thursday in 1961. Linda Sue was born August 17, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama. From memory, everyone spoke of how beautiful of a child Linda Sue was. At the age of 3, Linda Sue was one of those unfortunate children in the 1940s to develop Whooping Cough and experience the common complication of bacterial pneumonia with complications of seizures and inflammation of the brain. Linda Sue lived the remainder of her life as a child in the family home, at the care of Partlow State School and Hospital in Tuscaloosa and Group Homes throughout the Birmingham area.

Linda Sue was preceded in death by her father, Onan Mitchell Laney, her mother, Sarah Pauline Laney, her brother, Luther Mitchell Laney and sister, Geraldine Holder. Linda Sue is survived by her sister and caregiver Clovis L. Laney, brothers, Radford P. Laney and his wife Betty, Roy W. Laney and his wife Carol, and Kenneth R. Laney and his wife Susan.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 pm with a funeral service at 3:00 pm with Pastor David Moerbe officiating. Interment at Liberty Minter Cemetery in Morris, Alabama following the service.
