Lois Pitts Martin

Lois was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother who treasured time spent with her family. A lifelong member of Gardendale First Baptist Church since 1930, her faith and service to her church were important parts of her life. Throughout the years, she was actively involved in teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and faithfully served through the church's food ministry.

Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Vest Martin; her sisters, Ruby Alice Pitts and Evelyn Pitts McIntyre; and her brothers, Carl Pitts and Alton Pitts.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Karen Martin Grace and Leesa Martin Carter; grandsons, Brandon Johnson (Laura) and Chris Johnson; granddaughters, Kate Carter Konigsberg (Sam) and Claire Carter Goodman (Rowen); six great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation honoring Mrs. Lois will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m., followed by Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. All services are rendered by Ridout Gardendale Chapel located at 2029 Decatur Highway Gardendale Alabama 35071.

She will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.
