Louie Gerald Moore

Louie Gerald “Jerry” Moore, a resident of Bessemer, AL was born in Birmingham on July 26, 1935 and Jerry went home to be with the Lord on October 13, 2017 at the age of 82. Jerry proudly served our nation in the United States Army and he was a member of the Castle Heights Baptist Church. Although Jerry never had any children of his own, he loved and treated his nieces and nephews and step son as they were his own.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Moore; companion, Virginia Allen; brothers, Clifford Moore “Jiggs” and Donald Moore; Step son, Glenn Allen and nephew, Mitch Moore.

Jerry is survived by his nieces and nephews, Marilyn Cotton (Ralph), Karen Conn (Rev. Donald), and Pat Moore (Peggy); great niece and caregiver, Amy Conn; special friends, Helen Mills and Walter Pittman; and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Castle Heights Baptist Church with a visitation to begin at 10:00am; funeral service at 12 noon, followed by his burial in Castle Heights Baptist Cemetery. Service will be officiated by Rev. Donald Conn.
