

Louis was preceded in death by daughter Kim Resha Graben, mother, Fannie Summers, father, Matthew James Resha and brothers, Oliver Summers, Frank Summers, and Ronnie Summers.
Louis is survived by Ann Marie Resha, his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, his children, Dana Patterson(Roy), Ty Resha(Susan), Barry Holmes(Stella) ; grandchildren, Kayla DuBois(Eric), Kristin Schleicher Price(Colby), Sarah Resha, Emily Resha, Dalton Patterson, and Jackson Holmes; great grandchild Jameson Price; brothers James Summers(Judy), Robert Summers, Steve Summers(Debbie) and sister Sue Ann Resha Knight.
Louis graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1956. He then attended classes at Alabama Christian College in business management and law.
In December 1958, Louis along with his brother James Resha Summers enlisted in Airforce National Guard of the United States. October 1, 1961, Louis and James were activated during the Bay of Pigs conflict where they were stationed in France. Louis received Alabama National Emergency Service Medal and received a ranking of excellence in character and efficiency. August 1962, Louis was honorably discharged.
Louis owned and managed City Maintenance and Associated Cleaners. Later, he was employed by Alabama Power Company as a guard at Gorgas Steam Plant. He transferred to Miller Steam Plant as Coal Handling Foreman and ultimately was responsible for hiring all new associates. In 1996, Louis retired from Alabama Power at the age of 59.
Louis loved retirement. He pursued many hobbies such as boating and Model A cars. He enjoyed the outdoors and preferred to spend his time near the water. He especially cherished time on his 60ft houseboat appropriately named Resha’s Raft.
Louis loved his wife Ann, his family, his dogs (Ms. Daisy & Sambo), and Alabama football. Louis and Ann were members of Enon Baptist Church, Morris, Alabama. He found great comfort in his faith in the Lord, and he was grateful for the life he shared with those he loved.
Louis loved life. He sought to enjoy every moment by finding good in each situation.
