Maddux Reece Blakney, a beloved and brave young boy, passed away on February 17, 2026. Born on February 15, 2015, Maddux was a resident of Hayden, Alabama. His short but impactful life was marked by his inspirational spirit and kind-hearted nature.
Maddux was a happy boy who found joy in playing with his light-up toys and rubber snakes. He cherished his special stuffed moose, affectionately named "Marty." Known for his resilience, Maddux always laughed and smiled through the challenges he faced, endearing himself to his family and the nurses who cared for him. He was a true mama's boy and adored his family deeply.
Maddux Reece Blakney is survived by his parents, Zak & Brooke Blakney; sister, Miller Blakney; grandparents, Randy & Kim Scott and Ronnie & Diane Blakney; aunts and uncles, David & Ashland Scott, Will & Bailey Scott; cousins, Harper Scott, Fisher Scott, Carter Scott, and Camp Scott.
Maddux's memory will live on as an inspiration to all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
The Blakney family asks that any donations may be made to Children's of Alabama - Pulmonary Department.
A Visitation will be held on February 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Cross Roads Baptist Church, located at 801 SR-160, Warrior, Alabama. Following the Visitation, a Celebration of Life Service will commence at 2:00 pm at the same location.
