Margaret M. Childers

Margaret M. Childers, age 71 of Morris, Al passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Margaret loved to read a good book, especially her Harlequin novels. Life was great when she was at the beach with a good book on the balcony or enjoying her drives through Mentone. She enjoyed cheering for her Crimson Tide football, canning her famous jellies, antiquing with friends, but most of all just being around her grandchildren and whatever they were involved with. Mrs. Childers was a longtime member of New Castle United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Childers, a daughter, Karla Childers; brothers, Harold Crowe and Kenneth Crowe. Margaret is survived by her children, a son, Kenneth Childers and his wife Jean; her daughter, Karen Lange and her husband Kevin; sisters, Shirley Baird, Louise Buchanan (Larry), and Ann Stidham; grandchildren, Stacy Nichols (Brandon), Stephanie Childers, Kasey Veasey (David), Jason Childers, Kurt Lange, and Kristin Lange; great grandchildren, Brooks Langston, Breanna Byrd, and Zach Nichols.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening, May 25th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM. Services will be Saturday beginning at 10 AM followed with interment at Castle Heights Cemetery in Morris, Al. Rev Hal Cain will officiate services.
