Margarita Dequina De Leon, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama was born in Pagbilao, Quezon, in the Philippines on June 10, 1939 and she passed away peacefully in Birmingham, Alabama on July 13, 2018 at the age of 79. She graduated in 1964 with a BS in education and she placed eighth in Civil Service Exam. She taught elementary education for 30 years in the Philippines.
Margarita was married in 1972 to her husband, Lamberto De Leon, who passed away in 1997. Others who precededed her in death are her parents, Severa and Angelo Dequina; one son, Edwin De Leon; and one brother, Edilberto Dequina.
Margarita is survived by her children, Dennis De Leon, Nelson De Leon, Lamberto De Leon, Jr., Maricel Mcintosh, Rosemarie David, and Lota Ayaay; three brothers, Zosimo Dequina, Santiago Dequina, and Emiliano Dequina; four sisters, Virginia Edora, Catalina Gloria, Celing Elfa, and Flordeliza Merle; fifteen grandchildren, Phoebe Soleil De Leon, Niles De Leon, Jeff David, Jerick David, Jennie David, Shannon De Leon, Sharlene De Leon, Simon De Leon, Lamberto De Leon, III., Kenneth Ayaay, Patrick Ayaay, Mark Anthony Ayaay, Travis Mcintosh, and Andi Brown; three great grandchildren, Noeri David, Theone David, and Jojo Brown.
There will be a Celebration of Life Reception at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a Rosary service at 6:00pm.
