Ms. Jean was a graduate of Cullman High School in 1957, then followed on to join the education system by serving as a preschool teacher for 15 years. She was also known to be a devoted member of Gardendale First Baptist for 57 years and a member of the Garden Dale Garden Club.
Mary "Jean" Imogene (Chandler) Holmes is survived by her two sons, Greg Holmes (Joy), Michael Holmes; grandson, Landon Victor Holmes and sister, Hazel Chandler Radford. She is predeceased by her parents, Roy and Vernie Chandler; her late husband, Victor Curtis Holmes; fiance, Al Chambers; and two sisters, Esther Koch and Bea Davis.
A visitation for Jean will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel.
Any donations in honor of Jean may be made to Wallace State College Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
