Mary Carolyn McCain

Carolyn, of Gardendale, passed away on January 2, 2015 at the age of 80. She was born in Birmingham and she attended the First Baptist Church in Tarrant for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Hoyatt F. McCain, of Gardendale; parents, Clamon Alexander Helms, Sr. and Mary Haynie Helms; great-granddaughter, Sarah Johnson; niece, Mary Katherine Denard and nephew, James Oneal Townson.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice McCain Kyzer (Steve); granddaughter, Julie Kyzer Johnson (Randy) of Montevallo; great grandson, Caleb Johnson; brothers, William D. (Fran), Clamon A., Jr. (Barbara), Donald E. (Gladys), John L. (Michelle); sisters, Judith Denard, Sarann Townson (O.C.), Loretta Smith (Ken), Brenda Fields (Charles), numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation on Saturday, January 3rd from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral service will be Sunday, Jan 4th, at 2:00pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
