Mary Frances Smith

Mary was a member of Beechwood Baptist Church, and a devoted Christian woman whose faith guided her throughout her life. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, and ability to make those around her laugh. Mary never missed an opportunity to share a joke, bring a smile to someone's face, or brighten a room with her joyful spirit.

Above all else, Mary cherished her family. She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Her love, encouragement, and unwavering support will remain a treasured part of their lives.

Mary also enjoyed staying active through Body Pump exercise classes. Her determination, energy, and positive outlook inspired all those who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Popham, with whom she shared many happy years.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Bill Smith; her son, Tim Popham (Jacob); her daughter, Kim Sellers (Doug); her stepson, Randall Smith; her granddaughter, Laney Kilgore (Morgan); her grandson, Brady Sellers; and her two beloved great-grandchildren, Collins and Lucy. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Mary's legacy of faith, laughter, kindness, and love for family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. While she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Visitation will be held June 11, 2026, beginning at 1:00 with service at 2:00 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, Alabama. The family invites all who knew and loved Mary to join them in celebrating her life.
