Mary Bailey Smith

Mary Bailey Smith, age 51 of Gardendale passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011. She was a longtime active member of Gardendale First Baptist Church and was employed with America’s First Credit Union for many years. Her husband, James G. Smith and father, William G. Bailey, Sr. preceded her in death. Mary is survived by her son, Dustin Smith (Katie); granddaughter, Maggie Blake McDonald; mother, Rosa Lee Bailey; sisters: Becky (Dan) Standridge, Rachel (Nathan) Turner and Ruth Bailey; brother, Grant (Barbara) Bailey; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Gayle Smith; sister-in-law, Shelia Douglas; and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Gardendale First Baptist Church (South Campus) with burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the church. The family would like to thank her church, banking and high school “sisters” for their love and support.
