Mavaleen T. Jacobs, age 87, of Warrior, Alabama, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 7, 2026. Born on March 18, 1939, and raised in Tarrant, Alabama, Mavaleen lived a life marked by unwavering faith, unconditional love, sacrifice, and devotion to her family.
To know Mavaleen was to know the love of a godly woman whose greatest joy in life was caring for others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose family was truly her “jewels.” Her home was always filled with warmth, prayer, laughter, and food lovingly prepared for anyone who walked through the door. She made sure no one ever left hungry — physically or spiritually.
Mavaleen was a devoted prayer warrior and faithful disciple of Christ who boldly shared the love of God with everyone she encountered. Her strong faith and godly character left a lasting impact on countless lives and created a legacy that will continue for generations to come.
A talented crafter with an eye for beauty and design, Mavaleen had a gift for making everything around her feel welcoming and special. Had she chosen a career outside the home, many believed she would have been an incredible interior designer. Yet her greatest calling was being a homemaker — creating a place where love, faith, and family flourished.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max C. Jacobs USA Veteran; her parents, Claude Thomas and Amner Thomas; her siblings, Maynard, Kathleen, John, Ruth, Robert, Sylvania, and Avaleen; and her grandchildren, Megan Cook, Tasha Cook, and 5 Angel Grandbabies.
She is survived by her children, Joel Jacobs (Rita), Rhonda Bailey (Matt), Pam Collins (Ronnie), and Debra Cook (Michael USAF Veteran); her grandchildren, AJ “Mandy” Ingram, Ronnie Collins III, Marcia Wilson, Alan Collins, Carl Jimmerson, Jeramy Cook USA Disabled Veteran, Courtney Jacobs, Jennifer Cross, Shelby Edwards, Codey Jacobs, Kaleb Jacobs USA Veteran, Justin Jacobs, Kaitlin Butler, LCPL James Andrew Bailey USMC, and Evan Collins; her brothers, Alfred, Daniel, Matthew, and Stephen; 22 great-grandchildren.
Though her family grieves deeply, they rejoice knowing she is now healed, whole, and at peace in the presence of her Savior whom she faithfully served throughout her life.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Church of the Highlands – Fultondale Campus, 3250 Lowery Parkway, Fultondale, Alabama 35068. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with the service immediately following from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
