Michael Anthony Crabtree, affectionately known as “TC,” passed away suddenly on May 18, 2025, at the age of 71, following a tragic accident while working in Atlanta. He was struck by a distracted driver while crossing the street.
Born on July 14, 1953, TC lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family, friends, and faith. He made his home in Wilsonville, Alabama, where he and his beloved wife, Gail, created their own personal paradise — a place full of peace, joy, and cherished memories.
TC graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He spent over 25 years as a Senior Sales Manager at McPherson Oil, where he built a respected career marked by hard work, loyalty, and a true passion for serving his customers. TC was deeply committed to his profession and formed lasting friendships across the industry.
More than anything, TC loved God. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he found purpose and joy in serving his church and community. He was a faithful member and supporter of Cultivate Church in Columbiana, where he and Gail worshipped together. His quiet strength, character, and love for the Lord were evident in the way he treated others—with kindness, compassion, and humility.
He is survived by Gail Thrasher Crabtree, the love of his life; his daughter, Courtney Hall, and her husband Brian; and his grandsons, Hunter Hall (Kate), Michael Hall (Crimson), and Davis Crabtree.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eric Crabtree; his parents, Raymond and Shirley Crabtree; his sister, Donna; his brother, Terry; and his faithful Labrador, AbbyGail.
TC was a proud Alabama football fan, an avid golfer, and a lifelong fisherman. He had a quick wit, a generous heart, and a larger-than-life presence that made everyone feel welcome. He was deeply devoted to his family and lived each day with integrity, gratitude, and love.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on May 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Dignity Memorial in Gardendale, Alabama. A memorial service to celebrate TC’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in TC’s honor to the Cultivate Church Building Fund, mailed to: P.O. Box 1752, Alabaster, AL 35007.
Though TC’s life was cut short by a senseless accident, his legacy of faith, love, and unwavering dedication will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
