

July 22, 1931 – October 15, 2015
Mildred, a resident of Mt. Olive, AL, passed away peacefully at the age of 84. She was active in her church youth group in her younger years; she loved coaching fast pitch softball and was a longtime volunteer at the Mt. Olive Community Ballpark. Mildred retired from Cosmos Tablet Company and she loved sports, her family and her special furry friend, Victoria.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Lela Self McCay; her loving husband of 56 years, Robert M. McPherson; brothers, Fred McCay, Bud Terry, Jim Terry and Robert Terry; sisters, Ruby Vaughn, Willie Forster, Catherine Foster, and Marie Howell.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, Burma Hallmark (Garry), Debra Argo (Randy), Vickie Adams (Ed), and Kellie McCarty (Ricky); brothers, Steve McCay and Oscar Terry; sisters; Grace Oglesby, Myra Stockley, and Ann Carlisle; grandchildren, Alena Hallmark Gardner (Steve), Keith Hallmark, Wendi Argo Pilkington (John), Blake Argo (Rachel), Lee McCarty, Devin McCarty (Ashley); great grandchildren, Morgan and Reese Gardner, Tyler Pilkington, Ashlyn and Grace Burke, and Hadley McCarty; several nieces and nephews; a special group of friends and family for their help and support, Dale and Glenda Jones, Daffolie Buckhannon, Raymond Kennan, Joann Glenn and the staff of St. Martin’s.
Visitation at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, Sunday, Oct 18th, from 5pm until 7pm. Mildred will Lie-in-State 1 hour prior to her Funeral service at First Baptist Church of Mt. Olive, Monday, Oct 19th, at 2pm, followed by her burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
