Nell R. Brown

Nell R. Brown, age 69 of Dickson, TN passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Brown worked as a Office Manager for Brooks, Freedmon, and Lee CPA; Administrative Assistant for Jim Sowel, Attorney-at-Law; Administrative Assistant for John Day, Attorney-at-Law; and an Administrator for ERP, Dickson, TN; Church Secretary for First Baptist Church Madison, TN; and past President of the Linda Mayo Center for Abused Women. She also served as Arena Manager for the Racking Horse World Celebration in Decatur, AL. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Mae Dover Raiford. She is survived by her husband, Edward Brown; her children, Stephanie and Tim McCown of AL, Kelly and Kim Colley of AL, Leslie and Brian Nelson of TN, Kevin and Cherry Brown of TN; and son-in-law, Charles and Ginger Ryant of AL; five Grandsons and five Granddaughters; brother, Tommy and Elaine Raiford; and a sister, Carol and Jimmy Rowell.

A visitation will be held on Monday evening, June 25th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 until 8 PM followed by chapel services on Tuesday beginning at 2PM. Interment will follow in Moncrief Cemetery in Gardendale, AL.
