Nina K. Clark, went to be with the Lord on 7.17.2022, she was 89 years old. She was surrounded in great love and care by her two children Gregory Lloyd Clark and Carrie K. Clark-Calvert. Her cousin Wayne Herring and his wife Krista were also relentless in visiting and showing her love, care and support. Cousin, Valerie Justice Taylor included. We are grateful to the Justice Family.
Our beloved Mother and her children also want to thank her Church friends who spent time sending cards, flowers, calls and gifts. It meant so much to her.
Nina was a wonderful outstanding Mother. She loved being a mother above all else. She loved and enjoyed children and animals. Her dog Max and Carrie’s dog Repeat brought her much joy.
Her love of children was evidenced by her work as a volunteer for March of Dimes earlier in her life.
She also volunteered for the Leukemia Society in memory of her son in law, Zack Calvert.
Nina retired from JCPenney where she held the title of Merchandising Assistant. Earlier she and Lloyd Clark established their own Company, Clark and Company Business Machines. Following the success of the business she became a homemaker volunteering at her children’s schools and at Church. And prior to that she was a Bookkeeper at Britling Cafeteria in Downtown Birmingham.
Nina was preceded in death by Lloyd Clark (her former husband of 29 years, father of Greg & Carrie), son in law Zack Calvert, her parents and her brother, Marine Corp. Gunnery Sgt. Robert Wilhite and many other beloved family members.
Above all, Nina loved the Lord and Nina was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. She was a previous class officer and she loved attending Church and she loved her Church Family. Nina previously was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and loved serving on the Hospitality Committee, Vacation Bible School and other volunteer opportunities.
