Oether Chester Wren of Warrior, AL passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the age of 90. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Oether was born in Cullman County and served his country proudly during WW II in the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet on the USS Marcus Island. He retired after 39 years of service with Frisco- Burlington Northern Railroad. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Patricia Wren; sons, Larry Wayne Wren and Dwight Oether Wren (Tammi); his daughter, Jamie Darlene Franklin (Richard); two brothers, Charles Wren and Reno Wren; sister, Mavis Stroud; and his grandchildren, Michael Wren, Dari Franklin, Evan Franklin, Matthew Wren, and Mariah Wren. Services will be held Saturday at 11 AM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warrior, AL. Dr. Sammie Reid will officiate services.
