Opal L. Parker

May 28, 1933 – Nov. 1, 2013

Of Fultondale went home to be with her Lord on Friday morning surrounded by her family. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gardendale, a very godly woman, dedicated to the Lord. Opal loved her husband and family very much and will be missed by many friends. She was always willing to help out her family, friends, and neighbors. She was a compassionate and very loving person.

Opal is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Herbert Parker; Daughters, Laura Arnold and Linda Parnell (Ronald); Brothers, Frank Freeman; Sisters, Milodean Martin (Frank) and Marcello Reno; Grandchildren, Katrina Arnold Feola (John), Jared Arnold, John Parnell (Erin), Bryan Parnell (Deana); Great-grandchildren, Madalyn Feola, Parker Feola, Nora Parnell, Zachary Parnell, Chase Parnell; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 1:00 until 1:45pm with a chapel service in the Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at 2:00pm. Entombment will follow.
