

Pam was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Veal; her father, Maxie Turner; her mother, Velma Heath; her stepfather, James Heath; her brother, Dr. Jerome Turner; and her half-sisters, Linda Perkins and Debbie Turner. She is survived by her son, Jeremy Veal (Claire); her daughter, Gina Robertson (Brandon); and her grandson, Woods Robertson.
Pam was born on August 16, 1948, in Decatur, Alabama. She grew up in Gardendale, and she graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School in 1966. Following high school, she attended Jefferson State Junior College. In 1968, she began working as a clerk typist for the City of Gardendale, and she performed various other duties while working for the city over the next several years. In 1970, Pam married Jerry Veal; a few years later, she left her job at the city to work full-time raising her and Jerry’s children. She was steadfastly devoted to her children’s development and happiness. After her children got a little older, she returned to the workforce and eventually returned to work for the city. During her second stint with the city, Pam served the city in a variety of ways, including handling business licenses and serving as a magistrate for the Gardendale Municipal Court. She was employed as an accounting assistant when she retired from the city in 2008.
Pam loved spending time with her family, and she frequently cooked delicious Southern meals for them. She would regularly organize family trips to the beach and Cheaha State Park. She especially loved spending time with her family on Fort Morgan Peninsula on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Pam also enjoyed spending time with her church family at East Gardendale Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and instilled a love for the written word in her children. Pam was kind and generous, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. She was deeply loved by many in her life, and she will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on September 26, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama, 35071, on September 26, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A committal service will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery on September 26, 2025.
