

Patrick dedicated more than four decades of his life to serving others through a distinguished career in law enforcement. His unwavering commitment to duty, integrity, and protecting his community earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. While his profession was one of service, his greatest joy was found in the people he loved most.
A devoted father and proud grandfather, Patrick treasured every moment spent with his family. Whether cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide, spending time at the firing range, attending air shows, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, he embraced life with enthusiasm and appreciation. His quiet strength, steadfast character, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Patrick is lovingly survived by his son, Patrick W. Malone (Brandi); his beloved granddaughter, Adalynn Malone; his niece, Cara (Issac) Hunsinger and their children; his aunt, Nancy Warren Hughes; his uncle, James E. (Elizabeth) Turner; cousins Bill (Tricia) Hughes, Rachel (Tim) Harris, and Rebecca Oden (son, Wesley); extended family Hannah (Dillian) Connell, Jeremy Kelly, Debbie (Danny) Travis,and Tw (Tana) Oden; dearest friends Bobby, Bruce, Liz, and Chris; along with a host of cherished friends from the Fultondale Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Malone; his mother, Betty A. Malone; his sister, Cara Malone Chinn; and his granddaughter, Carrie A. Malone.
Patrick's legacy is one of honor, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. His life was defined not only by the badge he proudly wore, but by the compassion he showed, the friendships he cherished, and the example he set for those who followed. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Patrick D. Malone will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on July 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services to immediately follow.
