Peggy Clendening

Peggy graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1949 and attended Alverson-Draughon Business College in Birmingham. She worked for BellSouth for 35 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church for 45 years and a member of East Gardendale Baptist Church since 2013 and attended the Agape Sunday School class.

Peggy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Corinne and Bishop Smith. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles "Chuck" Clendening; nieces, Pam Greene and Sandy Dewald (Dave) of Tennessee; cousin, Eddie Hulsey of Tallapoosa, Georgia; special friends, Charlotte Ramey, Jeanette Estes, Tracy Wilson, Phillip and Mary Blaney, Tony Cousins, James Love, Rex Keeling, and a wonderful Sunday School class.

Celebration of Life Services for Peggy will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, Gardendale, Alabama with a time of Visitation to begin at 10:00 AM; funeral service at 11:00 AM, followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.
