Peggy Jean Connell

Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She had a kind heart and a compassionate spirit, and she was a proper lady who cared deeply for the people around her. Her family and friends were incredibly important to her, and she cherished the time she spent with them.

Peggy enjoyed listening to music, going to yard sales, traveling, going out to eat, and collecting various items. She was also known for her generosity and her willingness to give to others. Above all, Peggy loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and treasured the memories she made with them. She was famous in the family for singing the best “Happy Birthday” to her loved ones.

Peggy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James Connell; her son, Tony Connell and his wife, Wanda; her grandchildren, Dylan Callahan and his wife, Alissa, and their daughter, Adelaide; Victoria Gray and her husband, Michael, and their son, Owen; and Jessie Connell and his wife, Becca, and their children, Sky, PJ; as well as her great-grandchildren, Mia and Violet; along with extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Connell; her daughter, Kathy Connell; and her grandson, Justin Connell.

Peggy leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, kindness, and cherished memories. Her loving presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave to her family and the memories she created will remain in their hearts forever.

Visitation will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on September 7, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, on September 7, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm.
