

Rennis B. Russell, a resident of Mt. Olive, Alabama, was born in St. Clair County, Alabama on March 10, 1933 and she passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 26, 2018 at the age of 85. Rennis was a loving wife for 58 years and she was a loving mother to her dear children Rise and Veronica, who took wonderful care of her. She loved life, learning, and helping anyone who needed help. She enjoyed collecting owls and she had dozens of them. Mostly this simple country girl loved the outdoors, gardening, and her animal companions.
Rennis was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and Howard Bishop; two brothers, Hollis Bishop and Thurston Bishop; three sisters, Adelle Peterson, Maxine Bishop, and Audrey Bishop.
Rennis is survived by her husband, Robert S. Russell; daughters, Rise (Karen) Russell Vandiver, Veronica Daniels, and Scarlett Carrington (David); and a grandson, Daniel Reeves Faulk.
The family will receive friends for a celebration of her life at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.
