Robert Burgett

Burgett, Robert Melvin age 86 of Warrior, AL passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013. Robert retired from US Steel after 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII in the South Pacific and Hawaiian Islands. He was a member of the Hughes Memorial Baptist Church in Pinson. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 68 years, Edna Burgett; son, Robert Lynn Burgett (Patricia); daughter, Marcia Smith (Mike); grandchildren, Jennifer Burgett Gross (Chris),Melanie Guthrie Smith, and Matthew Burgett (Megan); great grandchildren, Allie Howell, Taylor Arrington, CJ Gross, Keira Gross, and Danica Smith. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 11:30 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Liberty Minter Cemetery in Morris, AL. The family wishes to thank the 6th floor nurses at St. Vincent’s East Hospital- Jamie, Dawn, Cindy, and Shiloh for their care and the staff of Alacare Hospice, especially nurse Sara Kinnison for her care and thoughtfulness for the care of Robert.
