Robert Earl Duffel

Robert was born in McKinnon, Houston County, Tennessee and relocated to Alabama by the age of 5 yrs. He was married for 60 years to Barbara Jo Alldredge. They had 4 daughters from this marriage. Robert was a Sheet Metal Mechanic most of his life before retiring. He built their home primarily by himself. He enjoyed time spent at his Lake house and just being outdoors. Robert’s favorite pet was a German Sheppard dog which he had several in his lifetime. Roses were his favorite flower and he liked operating heavy machinery. He attended Castle Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Morris.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Jo, daughter Teresa Robin, and great-granddaughter Kenleigh Ryan Barnett, his parents Bill and Kathryn Warden Duffel, and his brothers Charles and Larry Duffel. Robert is survived by daughters, DeAnna Duffel Swanson, Jamie Duffel, and Barbette Duffel Hardin, son-in-law James Hardin, Grandchildren, Laci Barnett Townes (Corey), Brian Duren, Matthew Barnett (Kendal), Great-Grandchildren, Michaela, McKenzie, Maverick, and Maci Townes, Sisters, Rosemary Dennis and Linda Manning (Tommy).

Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with Funeral following visitation. After the service led by Pastor Steven Sherer, he will be transported to Laodicea Freewill Baptist Cemetery in Hanceville, Cullman County, Alabama to be laid to rest. He will be truly missed by family and friends.

Pallbearers for all services are Brian Duren, Matthew Barnett, James Hardin, Scott Duffel, Tim Duren, and Billy Barnett.
