Born September 22, 1924, passed away March 2, 2012. She was a member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William I. Glass; and her parents: Bertha McAteer and Garnett W. Howell. She is survived by her son, Bill Glass (Bonnie); her daughter, Laura Clay (John); 5 grandchildren: Scott Glass, Brett Glass, Ross Clay, James Clay, and Anna Clay; her brother, Jack Howell (Octavia); 2 sisters: Mildred Faber and Barbara Bailey (Sammy); and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 beginning at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service.
