Ruth M. Pierce, age 87 of Trussville, Al passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Eastern Star and loved to quilt, bake, and being around family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Murphy and also her second, John T. Pierce; a son-in-law, Phillip Duggan. She is survived by a son, Marc Murphy (Karen); daughters, Jeannie Willis (Tim), Vickie Reynolds, and Debbie Duggan; her brother, Bud McPherson; grandchildren, Michael Robertson, Steven Robertson, Casie Payne, Josh Deshong, John Duggan, Kelly Pate, Joshua Pate, and Jessica Duggan; eight great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Dixie!
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM followed with a chapel service Friday at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Rock Springs Cemetery in Blountsville, Al. Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel directing.
