

Sam Lewis Standridge, aged 63, of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away on November 21, 2024 surrounded by loved ones singing his favorite hymn, Amazing Grace. Born on March 18, 1961, in Birmingham, Alabama, Sam was known for his enduring spirit.
Sam dedicated many years to the road as a proud truck driver going by the handle "2Speed" over the CB radio, and achieving the distinction of having his beautiful yellow rig featured on the cover of a prominent trucking magazine.
Sam had a rich personal life filled with diverse interests. His passion for his career was paralleled by his love for operating heavy equipment, Alabama football and classic Rock tunes. He was an avid reader of the Bible, deeply invested in the Word. Sam's zest for banter shone through in his role as the co-star of "The Sam and Jonathan Show.” He was a self-confessed Pepsi enthusiast, telling all that he believed drinking water would rust his pipes. He enjoyed making and drinking red Kool-Aid with his granddaughter, Natalie, with whom he also shared a fondness for Instagram (www.instagram.com/natandpapaw). Sam spent his last days in this world surrounded by family and friends.
Sam leaves behind a loving family: his children, Samantha Golden (Craig), Jonathan Standridge (Alyssa); his beloved granddaughter, Natalie Golden; his brother, Jerry Standridge (Amanda); and his cherished niece and nephews, Elizabeth, Luke and John. He was preceded in death by his mother Claudette Foster; his stepfather, Bobby Foster; and Granddaddy Nichols.
Sam left lasting impressions on the hearts of everyone in his family. Sam's life will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him, leaving a legacy of laughter, devotion, and an unshakeable faith.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Mud Creek Church Cemetery at 447 Mud Creek Church Rd, Adger, Alabama 35006 on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 11:00 am.
