Sharon Arlene Martin

Sharon Arlene (Shearburn) Martin, age 87, passed away October 11, 2026. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 66 years, Gene Edward Martin, their daughter Robin Lynn Hoshor, son-in-law Micheal James Hoshor and granddaughter Avery Nicole Hoshor.

Sharon was a graduate of Woodruff High School in Peoria, Illinois and spent her freshman year at Bradley University before marrying Gene.

Sharon and Gene were passionate about travel and had years of adventures together. They camped and owned several RVs throughout their marriage. After retirement they wintered in Naples, Florida each year. They took numerous international trips and cruises with family and friends. Paris was one of Sharon's favorite cities and destinations.

Sharon loved reading and visited the library regularly. She always had a book on her nightstand. She was also an avid football fan. She accompanied Gene to many Chicago Bears games and became a die-hard Auburn fan when they relocated to Alabama. She loved the mild southern winters and being close to their granddaughter Avery.

Sharon and Gene moved to Danberry Retirement Community where she spent her last two years. She and Gene met new friends and participated in many social activities and outings.

She was thrilled about her granddaughter's recent engagement, and we feel very blessed that she was able to experience this special moment.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, family and the Danberry community.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Danberry with a family memorial service to be held in Arizona.
