Shirley J. Wood, age 67 of Pell City, AL passed away 0n Wednesday, July 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Wood; and her parents, Robert Edward and Geneva Ward Vaughn. She is survived by her brother, Ben Perry, of Hayden, AL and her sister, Janet Swann of Pell City, AL; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Shirley was retired from Trinity Medical Center and Birmingham Surgery Center. She was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and also loved NASCAR, pulling for her favorite, #24 Jeff Gordon. Shirley was also a member of “The Rummy Hens Club”.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
