Steven Wayne Benton

Steve was a member of Providence Methodist Church in Newcastle, where he was known for his kind and compassionate nature. He had a deep passion for dirt bikes and motocross, a love that lives on through his sons, Kyle Steven Benton and Mark Alan Benton, both of whom share his enthusiasm for the sport. Steve’s love for animals was also one of his defining traits, as he cared deeply for all creatures big and small.

Above all, Steve was a devoted father, son, and brother. He touched the lives of many with his sweetness, kindness, and generosity. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Steve is survived by his mother, Jerry Ann Haymes (stepfather Sonny Haymes), his father, Clarence Wayne Benton, his sons Kyle Steven Benton (wife Rachael Benton) and Mark Alan Benton, and his beloved grandchildren Daxton, Wraylei, Audrey, and Noah. He is also survived by his sister, Cathy Dement (and Cosette Brown), along with a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. I
