Susan Gilmore

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Alford Sr., her mother, Barbara Alford and brothers Ronald Alford and Lloyd Alford Jr.

Susan was a dedicated Paralegal & homemaker, she poured her heart into everything she did, whether it was nurturing her loved ones, cooking, hosting family get-togethers or simply lending an ear to anyone in need.

Susan is survived by her loving sons Thomas (Valerie) Gilmore & Jamey (Stephanie) Rothe, brother Donald (Barbie) Alford and a host of extended family and dear friends who were blessed to know her.

A private family visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 am with public visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel (2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071), followed by a private family graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
