Sylvia Poe

Poe, Sylvia Bailey Theros, age 92, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013. She was born October 21, 1920 and lived with the caring and loving hands of Magnolia Ridge/ Genesis Nursing Home of Gardendale, Alabama the past few years. Her life and servitude was her church, home, and family, and she was the last surviving child of William Cross and Samantha Edna Baileys’ thirteen children. Sylvia was preceded in death by one son, Charles, and the father of her children Robert Louis Theros and Herman H. Poe. Holding precious memories are daughter, Geraldine, grandchildren, Barry (LeAnn) and Jeff, great grandchildren, Tabatha (Dustin) Brooke and Autumn; son, Larry (Judith), grandchildren, Lori and Todd (Tracy), great grandchildren, Danielle and Kyle, Ava, twins, Faith and Sofia and Jason, great-great grandtwins, Hunter and Hayden; and son, William D. (Katherine) and grandson, Mark David (Anna). Special appreciation for the caregivers of Magnolia Ridge/Genesis of Gardendale and SolAmor Hospice of Birmingham of which any contributions or memorials may be made.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21st, at 12 Noon at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
