

Teresa Lyvonne Torbert, of Mt. Olive, Alabama passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on August 12, 2025 at the age of 81. Teresa was born March 14, 1944 on Straight Mountain in Oneonta, Alabama.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 61 years, George Ross Torbert. Together they built a wonderful life centered around faith, family, and love.
Teresa is also survived by her three children, Kevin Torbert (Sharon), Christopher Torbert (Tracie), and Kathy Anderson (Brian); eight grandchildren, Drew Maylon (Kayla), Zack McCormick, Christina Torbert, Ross Torbert, Burke Torbert, Phillip Torbert, Michael Torbert, and Emily Torbert; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Charolette, and Weston; her sister, Ethelyn Stacks (Mike); her aunt; and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Teresa was a devout christian and this shined through in every aspect of her life. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ where over the years she taught numerous bible classes. She loved her church family so much.
Teresa loved flowers and gardening, working in her vegetable garden on Straight Mountain and her gorgeous yard in Mt. Olive was her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed photography, capturing special memories every chance she got of family, friends, and nature.
Teresa was a highschool graduate of Mortimer Jordan, class of 1964.
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Evon Cagle (Alford) and her two sisters, Sheila Gowins and Ruby Phillips.
A visitation for Teresa will be held Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, Alabama 35071, followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00 PM.
