Terri was the wife of Buck Douglas, the mother of Michael Gilliland Quinn and Lee Edward Quinn, mother-in-law to Margaret Weaver and Meg Quinn, and stepmother to Seth Douglas. Terri was a graduate of Homewood High School in 1979 and was an active member of New Georgia Baptist Church. Terri was an indomitable mother and a passionate wife who held limitless potential. She was an excellent chef, an avid painter, and a loving gardener who saw potential and promise in any hobby she undertook. She embodied the American dream, working her entire life at first Bellsouth and later AT&T, and ultimately was a Systems Engineer who was orchestrating legal transactions in multi-national settings. She loved spending time with friends and family and was most alive in her kitchen while entertaining a house-full of guests no matter the occasion. Additionally, Terri unofficially lays claim to the best Thanksgiving meal in America. Preceded in death by her parents Lester and Florence and her sister Brenda Phalen, she is survived by her great husband Buck, her loving sons Michael and Lee, her sister Libby Welch, and her brother Jimmy Gilliland.
Celebration of life service will be held at New Georgia Baptist Church at 12 P.M. on July 31st, 2021. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by all friends and the University of Alabama at Birmingham for providing world-class care.
If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the New Georgia Baptist Church, 5300 Decatur Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35207.
