

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy Bell, brother Jerry Bell, son Derek Bell, granddaughter Heather Hinson, and his beloved dog and best friend Shabba.
Survivors include wife of 68 years, Phyllis Bell; sons: Terry Bell Jr, and Robbie Bell; daughters; Kim (Terry) Johns, and Pam (Kevin) Hinson; Daughters-in-law, Edna, Reda, and Marcia; 8 grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Swartout, Jarred Bell, Sawyer Bell, Baillie (Jesse) Linden, Chase Johns, David Smith, Karen (John) Brown and Danielle (Trey) Griffin and 11 great-grandchildren. Others who survived him include brother Tommie (Sara) Bell, long-time best friend, Sandy Foreman, and many others along with many nieces and nephews.
At the age of 16, he won the Alabama State Braham Bull Riding Championship. He met his wife, Phyllis, in high school, and they were married at the age of 15 and 18. Shortly after high school, he served in the United States Army.
He lived in Florida for many years and worked in the Elevator business for most of his career. During those years, he traveled all over the world and had many interesting stories, from installing elevators for the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Canada, to a doomsday preppers underground tower in Kansas. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger.
Terry had a love for music and horses. He was very talented at playing guitar and singing. He was known for singing unique, funny, country songs, and having big blue grass festivals at their place in Altoona, AL. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Services for Terry will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL with a time of visitation to begin at 1:00 PM; service at 2:00 PM followed by his burial at Blount Memory Gardens, 2215 State Highway 132, Oneonta, AL.
