

Theodore R. “Bill” Jones of Gardendale passed away on Wednesday, October 29th, 2013 at the age of 88. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Bill proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, retiring with 23 years of service he fought in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from the United States Postal Service with 20 years of service. He was a Mason with the Birmala Lodge in Clay and a member of Beechwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jeromy Williams and Zach Jones; Parents, Jacob and Mirriam Jones; Brothers, Elzie, Dan, Verdo, Garfield, Doyle, and J.O.; Sisters, May, Leenie, Lorene, Dean and Hazel. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Jearl Jones; a son, Tommy (Joanna) Jones; his daughters, Jennifer (Ed) Salyers, Jerolyn (Kenny) Cooper, and JoAnn (Rick) Bradberry; Grandchildren Jamie Salyers, Ethan Jones, Chad Cooper, Josh Cooper, Krista Bradberry, Ricky Bradberry, and Blake Bradberry; Great Grandchildren, Brittany Williams and Tripp Smith; a brother, Edward Jones.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 1st, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 5 until 8 PM with chapel funeral services on Saturday at 11 AM. Interment will follow with US Army Military Honors in Sunrise Memory Gardens in Pinson.
