Tommy and I used to play golf on a regular basis. One Sunday we were playing Percy Marcum and were both hitting the ball pretty good which was somewhat unusual for us. 

We got up on the 7th hole and both had very nice shots straight down the fairway. I was sitting in the cart waiting on Tommy to hit when I saw a monkey scooting across the fairway. I said “hey Tommy look it’s a monkey.” When I said that the monkey headed for me in the cart. Before I could bat an eye the monkey shot up my britches leg and was sitting on my left shoulder. 

I looked over at this demon sitting on my shoulder with beady eyes 👀 and sharp fangs. I was able to jerk my shoulder around enough to get him off me and in the golf cart. I look up at Tommy and he’s just crying laughing. I might have been crying but I wasn’t laughing. 

I looked back down at this devil and he had my Skoal can in his mouth, so I jerked it out of his grimy paws. I look at Tommy and now he’s on the ground laughing hysterically. So when I look down at the monkey again he has my brand new Oakley sunglasses in his hands. When I reach down to get them this little (cursewords) looks me in the eye and then bites the nose piece off. 

When I jerked the sunglasses out of his hands IT got mad and started running around me hissing and lurching at me. I had a club in my hand and wish he would have come close enough but didn’t.

When I say Tommy was on his back laughing I’m not kidding. About this time the owner of the monkey is trying to reach us and when he finally does he’s afraid to get to close to it as well. He basically just shoos him away while I’m left standing there just devastated. 

I was nice as I could be to the guy but made it clear he owed me a pair of sunglasses and both of us a free round. Tommy finally got of the ground and we tried to resume our game. Needless to say my game was gone because I was a wreck and Tommy just couldn’t stop laughing long enough to hit the ball.

omg Linda, I can not even begin to list the memories of you and Tommy.  The first time I met yall, we watched the OJ Simpson chase in his bronco. After that we had countless times of fun times with you guys at our house and at yours.  There was never a dull moment when Tommy was around.  I remember going to Mountain Woods Lake for late nite swims, parties in our garage, the time the "police " showed up on our back deck, the times we all gathered on your deck.  Oh my...how I miss those days. I will treasure those memories always.  May Tommy R.I.P.

Remember when Tommy and Linda moved in across the street from my parents years ago.  Watched the girls grow up and Tommy dealing with a house full of females.  Always a neighbor that would do what he could to help someone.  Plus he loved to pick on people to make them smile and laugh.  You will be missed. :(  

Linda:  Randy and I are so sorry to hear about this.  Even though we have not seen you in many years we have many wonderful memories of spending time with you and Tommy and other wonderful friends in Fultondale.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.  Much love and sympathy.

My heart is with you.  I am sorry I am so far away. You and Tommy were one of the first friends Paul and I met when we moved to Alabama.  Always enjoyed both of your company.  Loss is painful and I know you have tons of family and friends around to give you comfort. Our good Lord has you close too. I love you much and will miss Tommy.  Rita 

You could not ask for a better neighbor or friend than Tommy.  We have lived next door to Tommy and Linda for 20 years and we consider them family.  Tommy, you will be missed.

We saw him often through the years at ball games. He was always smiling and so kind. He loved his grands, thats for sure! I'm sorry for your loss and hold your family in prayer. 

I wished we had more time to get to know Tommy. The first thing he ever said to me was that he loved my son, Jacob and appreciated the kind of boy we had raised him to be.  Rest in the arms of The Lord. 

I remember Tommy from Fultondale First Baptist Church, Tommy was a kind hearted Christian man who will be missed, Praying for Linda and the family.
Tommy is in the arms of Jesus .
Go rest high on that mountain, your job is done , you can rest now.
