

Thomas Kelley Shuttlesworth, a current resident of Fultondale, AL, was born on December 16, 1928 and passed on 26 January 2015 at the age of 86. Kelly spent 20 years as Music director at Walker's Chapel and Bethany Baptist Church. He was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church and Goodwill Sunday school class. Member of Fultondale Gas Board for many years and retired as the Quality Control Manager after dedicating 44 years at O'Neal Steel, in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1962 Kelley and friend Jack Mitchell began to sing folk songs made popular by The Kingston Trio and The Brothers Four. For over ten years The Coachman spent many an hour making musical memories with friends to include J. D. Burns, Virgil England, Don Campbell, Judy Wilson McGuirk and Tommy Loden.
Kelley is survived by his wife of 68 years Anna Eleanor Bailey Shuttlesworth; daughter Becky Shuttlesworth Smith and the late Tommy Smith of Gardendale Alabama; son, Kelley Franklin Shuttlesworth and daughter in law Karen Kemp Shuttlesworth of Pensacola, Florida; two sisters, June Tolbert and Pat Greer. Kelley and Anna have five grandchildren, Kimberly Strickland, Kellie Smith Morton; husband Brent Morton, Sean Kelley Shuttlesworth, Eli Smith and his wife Sharona Smith, and Erik Shuttlesworth; thirteen great grandchildren; Alex Miller, Demi Marie Strickland, Tyler Shuttlesworth, Ella Jane Morton, Abigail Shuttlesworth, Airyanne Shuttlesworth, Baylor Morton, Natalie Shuttlesworth, Wyatt Morton, Bronx Smith, Carley Smith, Anna Claire Morton, Braylon and Chandler Brakefield.
Kelley was the best husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend in the whole world. He will remain in our hearts and minds forever as our hero.
