Toni Ann Shelnutt was born December 28, 1964 and died February 16, 2021. Toni was a lifelong resident of the Castle Heights Community of Morris Alabama. After a long battle with Huntington’s Disease, she took her last breaths in the comfort of her Castle Heights home.

Toni was predeceased by her parents, Ronald Tillery and Shirley (Underwood) Tillery. She is survived by her partner and the love of her life, Charles Monte; her boys, Kyle Shelnutt (Clarissa) and Travis Shelnutt; her sister, Kim Page (Terry); and her girls Rhonda Quinn (Kevin), Jessica Schauer (Jonathan), and Nikole Parks (Colt); She was a proud grandmother to eleven: Gabe, Madison, Sophia, Lucy, Cameron, Alyssa, Mackenzie, Trenton, Sawyer, Autumn, and Aulston. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, her aunts and uncles, and a host of others because with Toni – family was love, not blood.

Toni’s participation in the Austedo drug trial helped pave the way for FDA approval to treat Huntington’s disease symptoms and she enjoyed being an advocate and face for HD – especially when it gave her an excuse to dye her hair a bright color.

Special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Sung and the staff at UAB Neurology, an HD Center for Excellence, and Comfort Care Hospice.

Toni liked to come to our house and sit on the porch to talk and cut up. So my wish is that Toni and Donnie find each other and sit on God's porch and talk and cut up. Toni went through alot but most of the time had a smile on her face. Toni you are no longer in pain or suffering. You will be missed. Love you

I will see you all healed in Heaven. Uncle Howard is there and I am sure he smiled when he saw his “Chatty Cathy” walk through those gates. That was his name for you when you where little because you looked like that little doll. I am sure this world is a better place because of the work you did for Huntington’s disease. I know your Mom and Dad are thrilled to see you. Kim , I pray that God comforts you at this time. Love you.
