Troy A. Douglas, a resident of Forestdale, Alabama, was born on June 13, 1927 and he passed away peacefully on July 20, 2018, at the age of 91. Troy proudly served our country in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked and retired from Greyhound Bus Lines and he served as a Union Representative for many years. He was a faithful servant for the Lord who attended Westwood Church of Christ for many years. When he was not working or attending services for the church he could be found on the golf course.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Zora Douglas; and his loving wife of 67 years, Jewel Wright Douglas and six siblings.
Troy is survived by his two sons, Randy Douglas and his wife Stephanie, and Michael Douglas; two daughters, Marsha Douglas Sorrell and her husband Ben, and Leslie Wright; one brother, Wilson Douglas and his wife Ruth; four grandchildren, Jennifer Sorrell Pressnell and her husband Barry, Benny Sorrell and his wife Heather, Michael Sean Douglas, and Madelyn Douglas; four great grandchildren, Ashleigh Cagel and her husband Andrew, Allison Erin Pressnell, Aimee Pressnell, and Hannah Brooke Sorrell; one great-great grandson, Philip Cagle; many other family members and a host of friends.
Services will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 with a visitation to begin at 10:00am; funeral service at 12 noon, followed by his burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale, Alabama.
