Velma W. Miller

Velma W. Miller was born in Hillard, AL, on March 4th, 1932 and passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2015 at the age of 84. She was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Birmingham. She was a giver and not a taker, who enjoyed helping others.

Velma was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Leigh Ann Workman and Mary Poole and Mary Leighann Workman. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Charles W. Miller; sons, Franklin Norred (Rachael), Winston Norred, David Miller; daughters, Bertha Tucker (Mike), Judy Miller, Shemya Hamilton; sisters, Jean Gibson, Macie Royster; grandchildren, Frances Burnham, Kenda Higgins, Wayne Poole (Jennifer), Dale Poole, Frank Norred, Jr, Bradley Norred, Lori Andrews, Kayla Bowman and Michael Tucker, Jr; great grandchildren, Allison Sarres (Monty), Jessica Higgins, Shelbi Higgins, Savanna Poole, Ashley Poole, A.J. Poole, Tyler Poole, Lilly Dawson, and Madison Vaught; great-great grandson, Maverick Poole and a host of friends.

Visitation on Sunday, Aug 7th, at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6pm until 8pm. Graveside service on Monday, Aug 8th at 3:00pm in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, AL.
