Veta Rea Glass went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026 at the age of 73. Veta was registered nurse for over 34 years with 25 of those years spent at Carraway Methodist Hospital, and the remainder spent at Brookwood Hospital, Shelby Nursing Home and Shelby Medical Hospital. In her free time she enjoyed shopping and traveling.
Veta was proceeded in death by her parents, Veto and Nellie Gene Self, sister Barbara Nell Self, and infant grandson Zacharaiah Harris. She is survived by her loving husband Charles Glass of 34 years, children Mark A. Davis (Judy), Christopher D. Davis (Sherry), Jessica D. Mathis, Kelly D. Edwards, Charles H. Glass Jr., 14 Grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:30 for immediate family followed by family and friend's visitation at 11 am at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. Chapel services will begin at 12 Noon followed by interment in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
