

Wanda dedicated over 40 years of her life to serving the State of Alabama as a secretary and administrative assistant. Her commitment and professionalism left a lasting impression on those she worked with throughout her career.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, John Ross Barton Jr.; her son, Christopher Scott Barton; her parents, Stacy Lee Scott and Albert Roy Scott; two brothers, Bennie Ray Scott and Edward Scott; her sister, Clara Evelyn Edge; her sister-in-law, Tess Scott; and her brother-in-law, Charles Earl Edge.
She is survived by two nieces, Brenda G. Hall (Billy) and Cindy E. Henry (Ricky), as well as a host of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews along by caregivers and their families, who were beloved friends and companions, Brandy Reeves Annie Cole, Sonya Dudley, Melinda Webster and Latoya Morris who will cherish her memory.
Wanda’s life was marked by dedication to family and work. She will be remembered for the love she shared with those closest to her and the legacy she leaves behind. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
Celebration of life services will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM; funeral at 12:00 PM, followed by her burial in Duck River Cemetery, 1027 County Road 775, Cullman, AL 35055.
