Wilford Ray Kirby of Gardendale, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Holbert and Grace Rollins Kirby; wife, Martha Kirby; brothers, Thomas Kirby and Kenneth Kirby; sister, Helen Kirby. He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Kirby; Children, Cindy Berry (Ray), Cathy Delaney (Bill Delaney), Pam Coggin (Tommy), Tammy Madison, Mike Kirby (Terri); Sisters, Jackie Nabors (Robert) and Carolyn Lee; Grandchildren, Stephen Kirby, Thomas Kirby, Ryan Delaney, Tyler Delaney, Mary Conner Delaney, Katie Berry, Christopher Berry, Emily Tate, Tara Spencer, Shaun Miller, Austin Coggin; 10 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. His nephew, Rodney Turner will be officiating.
Ray was devoted to the Lord, his family and his country. He always put others before himself. He was a true patriot. He served two tours in Vietnam. He retired as a Major in the US Army, 101st Airborne Division and the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a Master Paratrooper with over 500 jumps. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind, loving husband, father and friend. His family will cherish the many memories of vacations and outings with stories that will be told for years to come. He taught many life lessons and left everyone wanting to be a better version of themselves. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Mr. Kirby’s honor on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Gardendale Ridout’s Chapel. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mr. Kirby’s Service will follow at 5 p.m.
Burial will occur on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Mississippi.
