Wilhelmina M Henry, a beloved, devoted, hard-working, thoughtful, resilient, and compassionate soul, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 20, 1933, in Alabama, Wilhelmina lived a life full of love and dedication.
Wilhelmina was self-employed for 20 years as an H&R Block Franchise owner, serving Shelby County until the mid-1990s. Her career was marked by her commitment and resilience, traits that she carried through every aspect of her life.
Wilhelmina was an avid gardener who loved flowers and loved to travel and enjoyed camping with her family. Her thoughtful and compassionate nature was evident in her community involvement as a member of the First Baptist Church Mt Olive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Prince Glynn Henry, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage, her daughter Carol Henry Hudson, brothers Stanley Mathews and Tommy Eugene Mogab, and step-grandson Donald West.
She is survived by her daughter Jean Henry West (Mackie), her son Richard Henry (Susan), and her son-in-law Greg Hudson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Randall Henry, Amanda Henry Faulkner (Judy), and Jessica Henry, as well as her step-grandsons, DeWayne West (Amy) and David West. ten great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Wilhelmina's life at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. Visitation will be held on September 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham, Alabama.
Wilhelmina's life was a testament to love, dedication, and compassion, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
