.William “Bill” Arthur Sears of Gardendale, AL passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the age of 88. He was a member of the Gardendale’s Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and the Open Door Sunday School Class. Mr. Sears retired from Vulcan Rivet and Bolt Company with over 45 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mellie Jean Curl Sears; his son, Jeffrey H. Sears; brothers, Burlin Sears, Blaine Sears, Donald Sears, and David Sears; and a sister, Lynn Sears. He is survived by his sons, Wayne Sears (Robbin Amanda), Jerry Hollis Sears (Carolyn Ann), Randall Patrick Huffman (Kathy); a daughter-in-law, Joan Collins; brothers, Johnny M. Sears and Donald Alfred Sears; grandchildren, Conor Collins Sears, Paula Davis, Joel Sears, Cheryl Huffman, Lynn Counders, and numerous others.
Services will be held Thursday, April 16th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 2 PM with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Garden City Cemetery in Hanceville, Al.
