William E, “Gene” Goodwin, age 69 of Gardendale passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Betty Paxton Goodwin; a brother, Tillman Goodwin. He is survived by his loving family, his brother, Tommy Goodwin (Connie); nieces, Kelly G. Tidwell (John) and Miranda G. Neely (Jamie); special cousin, Marty Pennington (Angie),CJ and Chandler, and nieces, nephews, and many friends. Gene retired from Jefferson State Community College.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel beginning at 2 PM. Visitation with the family will follow services. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Heart Association.
