

William Ronnie Lowery, age 76 of Hayden passed away on October 24, 2023. He was born on March 30, 1947 to the late William Askew Lowery and Juanita Jean Lowery. Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam; returning from his deployment he began working at Norfolk Southern Railroad. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as an Engineer after 34 years of service. During his free time, Ronnie enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, and being outdoors. On fall Saturdays you would find him cheering on University of Alabama football. Ronnie loved his family more than anything and creating memories with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William A. Lowery and Juanita Weathers Lowery; his son, Ronnie Lynn Lowery; and his nephews, Kris Dobbs and Lane Dobbs. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Barnes Lowery; his son and daughter in law, Jeff and Stacey Lowery; his daughter, Kimmi Renee Lowery, and his stepson, Nathan and Kara Harris; his grandchildren and their spouses, Ethan Lowery, Whitley Lowery, Emily and Brady Chambers, Laura Lowery, Kerri Lynn Williams, and Ryan Spanier; his great grandchildren, Griffin Chapple, Leilani Perez, Lilah Lowery, Luna Lowery, Krista Payne, Kaybree Payne, Cody Harris, Elisha Harris, and Renee Harris; his sister and brother in law, Vickie and Rodney Dobbs; and his nephew Lee Dobbs.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00 pm with entombment to immediately follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
